La recente conversione ideologica di una figura di culto del mondo liberal e sessantottino, David Mamet, veniva comunicata al mondo con queste parole:

La cosa mi ha messo voglia di rileggere un suo libro che posseggo e che folgorò anche me. E' un po' vecchiotto ma sempre attuale: "Ever wonder why". Vedrò se è il caso di unirmi al giudizio lusinghiero.
Una cosa intanto puo' ben dirsi intorno all' arte di "convertire": pochi numeri, poche note a piè di pagina, semplicità e l' arte di arrivare a conclusioni anche estreme ma sempre attraverso passaggi che, presi isolatamente, sprigionano grande buon senso.
