COMPETERE SENZA SPIRITO COMPETITIVO
L'articolo si concentra sui nostri "nemici invisibili". La rivoluzione digitale li ha moltiplicati. Ecco i temi che approfondisce:
1) Tenzone amorosa - Amore fa rima con batticuore. Quando corteggi l'amata, l'ansia di prevalere sull'odiato rivale ti pervade e raddoppia il tuo sforzo. Oggi, con siti come Match.com, le cose sono cambiate, i tuoi "rivali" sono dei fantasmi virtuali: li temi ma non li conosci, fantastichi su di loro ma non puoi odiarli perché non hanno volto.
2) Senza faccia - Chi minaccia il tuo salario viene dall'india e chi mette in pericolo il tuo posto di lavoro viene dalla Cina. Oggi il tuo nemico non si fa vivo, ma domani potrebbe materializzarsi dal nulla, lo saprai all'ultimo istante, non puoi combatterlo ora, nessuno ti ha sfidato ufficialmente, non puoi prendere contromisure. Il tuo competitore è invisibile.
3) Lo Sconosciuto - Su Guru.com puoi assumere sconosciuti da tutto il mondo per disegnare i tuoi circuiti elettronici o per comporre i jingles della tua pubblicità. Tutti competono con tutti e nessuno conosce nessuno.
4) Percepire - la competizione non è mai stata così feroce e al contempo così impercettibile.
5) Ansia - L'invisibilità del nemico fa crescere l'ansia. Non esiste guerra stressante come la guerriglia, quella in cui sai che potresti essere colpito senza preavviso. Il terrorismo internazionale porta l'occidente vicino al panico facendo danni irrilevanti. La nostra mente cerca l'ordine, sempre. E la sua frustrazione è enorme in casi del genere.
6) Competizioni rassicuranti - In tutto questo contesto l'amore per la competizione cresce: talent, sport organizzato per i figli, sport alla tv... Come mai? Ricordo che i primi talent venivano condannati perché "portatori di una mentalità competitiva". Oggi, tutto sdoganato. Cosa c'è sotto? Probabilmente dobbiamo esorcizzare la paura per la competizione che temiamo veramente: quella invisibile. Il testa a testa ora ci rassicura, riempie un vuoto.
7) Globalizzazione - L'ansia per la competizione invisibile ha instillato l'avversione per il commercio internazionale. Il no-global marxista lo avversa perché portatore di competizione, la classe media perché portatore di competizione invisibile.
8) Evoluzionismo - Ci siamo evoluti in piccoli gruppi, la competizione comportava un faccia a faccia, la nostra biologia emotiva è tarata per simili contesti: quando il nostro rivale fa una mossa, l'adrenalina sale e rispondiamo. Nella nuova anonima arena la programmazione adrenalinica di una volta perde di senso: ci ritroviamo sconfitti senza nemmeno aver combattuto.
9) Chi ci guadagna? - 1) I pianificatori. Loro non hanno bisogno di sentire il fiato sul collo per darsi da fare. E' gente che lavora bene da sola o in gruppi ristretti (un esempio: Bill Gates). Spesso non hanno nemmeno una "mentalità competitiva" in senso tradizionale. 2) I Precoci. Sanno fare la prima mossa e raccolgono i frutti di essere arrivati in anticipo su certe idee. 3) I Nervosi. In pubblico sclerano facilmente ma ora che possono agire appartati danno il meglio. molte blogstar sono persone timide e anche un po' imbranate se giudicate in pubblico. 4) gli Immaginifici. Concepiscono nuove idee senza disporre di grandi risorse (marketing, design...). Prima di google chi avrebbe pensato che la ricerca su web sarebbe stata una miniera d'oro? TouTube e Facebook non utilizzano nuove risorse, si limitano a presentarle in modo originale a persone che mettono in connessione. Chi punta invece sulla compressione dei costi oggi non va' lontano.
10) Che fare? - Indietro non si torna. Prendiamo il buono: cio' che rende la competizione invisibile, rende invisibile anche la cooperazione. Là fuori c'è una miriade di potenziali alleati che ci aspetta: in alto i cuori! Esempio: Facebook porta a casa mia molti potenziali amanti di mia moglie (😟) ma anche una miriade di potenziali amici per me (😁)! Impariamo a convivere con le nostre paure e a sfruttare i nuovi giacimenti.

Perché non aiutare i poveri prestando loro dei soldi anziché donarli? Il microcredito incentiva la costituzione di piccole attività che si inseriscono armoniosamente nel tessuto sociale, il piccolo imprenditore sviluppa delle competenze durature e una disciplina dettata dall’esigenza di restituire quanto ricevuto. Inoltre, il “capitale di soccorso” resta intatto e disponibile per altri prestiti. Quando si dona, mi dicono, il beneficiario subisce l’assalto di parenti e amici che polverizzano così la sua ricchezza inattesa e la destinano inevitabilmente al consumo occasionale. Con il microcredito almeno questo inconveniente è aggirato: l’esigenza di restituire pone un freno alla polverizzazione. Impegnarsi in questo settore è facile, mi sono iscritto da poco a Kiva prestando via paypal 25 euro a un taxista ugandese, per lui una somma notevole. Chissà se rivedrò mai quei soldi, ma mi dicono che le probabilità sono elevate e gli interessi tutt’altro che disprezzabili.
