Ve lo ricordate il buon Filippo Facci che dichiarava: "Sull' aborto abbiamo una buona legge, tanto è vero che gli aborti calano". Io m' interrogavo sullo strano ragionamento, prima ancora che sui suoi contenuti.
Ma un simile ragionamento è tutt' altro che una primizia, si ripete spesso sotto altre vesti:
A new study by the Guttmacher Institute and the World Health Organization shows that abortion rates are similar in different countries whether the procedure is legal or not. Shocking, I know. Of course, what wasn't similar was the risk to women's health.

Il trucco che c' è sotto non è certo dei più sofisticati:
abortions are generally high in the developing world, where it is usually illegal, and low in the developed world, where it is usually legal
Naturalmente i numeri che abbiamo a disposizione sul modo migliore di difendere i nascituri raccontano una storia ben diversa: dove l' aborto è legalizzato c' è strage di feti, dove è interdetto si impennano le nascite.
